PQQs are an extremely important part of the tender process as failure at this stage means that you are nowhere nearer to winning new business or even getting the chance to ‘pitch’. Therefore it is vital that you attach the same importance to this document as you would to an Invitation to Tender or a presentation in front of the buyer.
The Pre-Qualification stage is exactly that – PRE-QUALIFICATION. This is the stage where the buyer is judging you on set criteria, filtering out those who they may see as a risk. Therefore you must demonstrate that you are a ‘safe pair of hands’ by meeting their requirements. Failure to meet their criteria here may mean immediate exclusion from the process, regardless of how well you could perform the contract. The importance of this stage cannot be understated.
Therefore, once you have identified the right contract where you meet all of their criteria you are then faced with the task of completing the PQQ itself. If you have filled several in before you will know that it can be extremely time consuming and repetitive, so with this in mind, put yourself in the shoes of the buyer – the person who has to sit down and read through them all!
In theory, you want to produce a submission that immediately grabs the attention of the reader, holds their interest and allows them to score your answers easily.
Here at S2 we can add that extra value to your PQQ, so make your next submission stand out by appointing S2 to write it for you.
